Pelvic floor therapists focus on the evaluation and treatment of symptoms related to bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction. Your first visit focuses on learning about you and what is bringing you to pelvic floor therapy. We will gather information about your history, symptoms, and goals. Much of your first session is spent in discussion. A physical exam will then be performed to assess your posture, movement, mobility and strength. If appropriate, a pelvic exam is included in this assessment. This will only ever be conducted with your consent and within your comfort level.
This conversation and exam will shape future treatments and allow us to tailor them to your specific needs.
